PROJECT OVERVIEW
Following Cyclone Gabrielle in early 2023, comprehensive slope stabilization works were required in the Brynderwyn Hills along a critical transport corridor. The project demanded multiple stabilization techniques across various sites while maintaining essential highway access. Geovert was engaged to develop and implement solutions that would enhance the corridor's resilience against future weather events.

PROJECT SOLUTION
Geovert implemented an integrated stabilization approach, including anchored mesh-netting, drape meshing, and downslope shotcrete applications. A key innovation involved deploying a pneumatic drycrete pump system, enabling shotcrete application via rope access, with water being added at the nozzle end. This solution significantly improved manual handling safety and reduced risks associated with downslope rope access work.
The execution strategy prioritized maintaining access along the transport corridor while delivering these complex stabilization works. Through close collaboration with our partners, rigorous safety protocols and continuous monitoring systems were established, resulting in zero significant incidents over the 18-month project duration.
The successful implementation demonstrated the value of collaborative approaches to complex infrastructure challenges, while significantly improving the resilience of this important transport corridor against future weather events.
